Mahmut Cemal SARİ Mahmut Cemal SARİ is a MA student on Turkish Music Thoery and Ethnomusicology at Uludag University State Conservatory, Bursa. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Ege(Aegian) State Turkish Music Conservatory in Turkish Folk Music performance department. His music life have started from 4 years old to play baglama. After that he resumed music high school. He studied with many bağlama masters. Also he plays with some group like “Two “Saz” one sound” with Ozan Sari, Aşıkane and Uludağ Makam Ensemble. He contuniues master thesis with his advisor Özlem Doğuş Varlı also. His primary researche areas are playing method for traditonal instruments, Alevi music in Turkey, musics in conversation rituals around Anatolia, music and cultural identity among Syrian immigrant in Bursa. Also he is member of management board for Ethnomusicology association in Turkey. |
