Dr. Ersen VARLI Dr. Ersen VARLI (1976) is an academician at Uludag University State Conservatory. He also worked as an academician for Black Sea (Karadeniz) Technical University State Conservatory and Golden Horn (Haliç) University Conservatory. He completed his bachelor's degree at Istanbul Technical University-Turkish Music State Conservatory. He completed his MA in Istanbul Technical University-Institute of Social Sciences on Turkish Folk Music. He also studied on Sound Engineering in “Advanced Studies in Music” department for one year. He completed his DMA in Golden Horn (Haliç) University-Institute of Social Sciences on Turkish Music. He completed his post-doctoral research project in Oxford University- Faculty of Music with the help of Prof. Dr. Martin Stokes. His primary research areas are Turkish folk music, music theory, music and media, sound recording techniques for traditional music instruments, music education, archival research and Bağlama education. He performs vocal, bağlama, kaval, ud, cümbüş and percussion instruments. Also he performed bağlama, kaval, ud, cümbüş, percussion and vocal in lots of concerts. There are lots of albums that is recorded, directed and played by Ersen VARLI. (Series of Gül Harmanı, Anadolu Rüzgarı, Türkülerle Türkiye, Bir Şarkıdır Yaşamak, Yunus Emre, Troubadour Songs, etc.) At the same time he founded five sound studios in Istanbul and Bursa. He worked as a sound engineer for many studios and concert halls. He is also preparing his personal album recently. |
